The
ACFE Fraud Conference Canada returns to the region for its 30th year with a three-day event held October 29–31, 2023, in Montréal. Hosted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), this year's event features a variety of speakers on topics such as ethical investigative interviewing, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency forensic investigations, the future of internal audit and more.
Keynote speakers for the event are:
Amber Mac, award-winning podcaster, best-selling author and technology expert. She currently co-hosts the weekly technology radio show and podcast "#TheFeed" on SiriusXM. Her general session will focus on the future of fraud as AI technology continues to evolve.
Ryan Duquette, National Leader of Digital Forensics at accounting firm and event sponsor MNP. Duquette is a former police officer who investigated cybercrime and fraud matters. He will be interviewing Amber Mac during their general session.
Greg McArthur, award-winning journalist with The Globe and Mail's investigative team. He has reported on topics including corruption and international corporate bribery. His general session will look back on The Globe's corruption investigation of Bondfield Construction Company, which won the bid to redevelop Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital.
Dr. Darryl Plecas, former Speaker of British Columbia’s Legislative Assembly. He is currently a professor emeritus at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia. His general session will focus on the fight against corruption.
Pamela Barnum, a former undercover police officer and federal attorney who frequently speaks about trust and detecting deception. Her general session will examine nonverbal communication in negotiations.
Garth Sheriff, founder of Sheriff Consulting, which provides professional and leadership education to accounting professionals. His general session will examine the FTX fraud scandal through an ethical lens.
