ACFE Fraud Conference Canada Returns to Ottawa

AUSTIN, Texas (October 7, 2024) — For the first time in six years, the ACFE Fraud Conference Canada is returning to the nation's capital. The 2024 event, hosted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), will take place October 20–22 at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa and will feature speakers discussing the latest fraud trends and the groundbreaking tools emerging in the fight against fraud.

Keynote speakers for this year's event include:

  • Avery Haines, host and managing editor of CTV’s W5.
  • Norman Groot, founder and director of Investigation Counsel PC.
  • Keith Elliott, CEO of Reed Research Investigations.
  • Alison Taylor, ethics and compliance expert, author and clinical associate professor at New York University's Stein School of Business.
  • Karina Vold, assistant professor and expert in the philosophy of cognitive science and philosophy of artificial intelligence.
  • Tracy Laufer, director in the Operational Risk Division at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).

Breakout session topics include:

  • Cyberattacks.
  • Cryptocurrency fraud investigations.
  • Synthetic ID fraud detection.
  • Using artificial intelligence in fraud investigations.
