More than 2,300 professional fraud sleuths will arrive here Sunday for the 23rd Annual ACFE Fraud Conference & Exhibition, June 17-22, 2012. The world’s largest gathering of anti-fraud professionals will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.
More than 2,300 professional fraud sleuths will arrive here Sunday for the 23rd Annual ACFE Fraud Conference & Exhibition, June 17-22, 2012. The world’s largest gathering of anti-fraud professionals will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.
Former U.S. Senator Chris Dodd and Olympus whistleblower Michael Woodford head the list of keynote speakers and presenters who will share their insight and expertise with an audience of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), investigators, auditors, attorneys, law enforcement officers, and other security, risk and compliance professionals.
The conference will also provide more than 80 educational sessions focused on the latest techniques and best practices in fraud detection, dealing with subjects such as how fraudsters fool auditors, employment background checks to prevent fraud, and using open source intelligence in investigations, just to name a few.
Other leading speakers include New York Times and Forbes contributor Diana B. Henriques, author of “The Wizard of Lies” (a book about the Bernie Madoff scandal), and best-selling author Pamela Meyer, CFE. Attendees will also hear from fraudster Mark Whitacre, whose story is the subject of the Warner Brothers and Steven Soderbergh-directed feature film "The Informant!" starring Matt Damon.
