The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is proud to announce that Thomas Caulfield, CFE, and Natalie Lewis, CFE, have been elected to the 2023–24 ACFE Board of Regents. Fellow Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs) elected them from candidates selected by the Board's nomination committee. Caulfield and Lewis will take office at the Board's meeting in February.

Thomas A. Caulfield, CFE, has spent over 40 years working in the public and private sectors. He retired from federal service in 2015 as a senior executive and co-founded Procurement Integrity Consulting Services, a global anti-corruption consulting firm. Clients include the United Nations, Basel Institute of Governance and various anti-corruption authorities in Africa, Asia and the United Kingdom. His firm has assisted U.S. clients with establishing anti-fraud procurement protocols, enhancing procurement policy compliance, reviewing ethics and compliance programs, and training.
Caulfield’s government service includes the U.S. Marine Corps (retired), the CIA, and the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency. He has been a chief learning officer, inspector general for investigation, procurement integrity officer, polygraph examiner and criminal investigator. Caulfield temporarily returned to federal service during the COVID-19 pandemic to build the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery’s Office of Investigations.
Caulfield has published and co-published articles related to anti-corruption and is the recipient of the ACFE’s 2022 James R. Baker Speaker of the Year Award. He is a Certified Inspector General (CIG) and a Certified Inspector General Investigator (CIGI).
Natalie S. Lewis, CFE

Natalie S. Lewis, CFE, is a principal at consulting firm Windham Brannon, LLC, where she leads the forensic and litigation support services practice. Throughout her career, Lewis has conducted fraud investigations for companies of all sizes, ranging from small, closely held businesses to Fortune 50 companies and government entities. Her investigations have spanned the globe and include various internal investigations, embezzlement, Ponzi schemes, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and asset misappropriation.
Lewis has been actively involved with the ACFE for 10 years and is a member of its Georgia Chapter. She received the AICPA’s Standing Ovation award in 2019 for her work in forensic accounting and regularly speaks on timely topics in forensic accounting and fraud investigations at universities, law firms and conferences. She has been published in Fraud Magazine and the Journal of Accountancy.
Lewis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Brenau University.
Newly elected Regents will replace Hannibal “Mike” Ware, CFE, and Alexandra Sagaro, CFE, at the conclusion of their two-year terms. Thank you both for your service and commitment to continuing the ACFE’s mission, and congratulations to Thomas and Natalie!
