ACFE 2024 Job Analysis Survey

Help us conduct a comprehensive study to identify the knowledge and skills required to effectively perform and demonstrate proficiency in the fraud examination profession.

ACFE 2024 Job Analysis Survey

Job survey checkboxesThe Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) recently engaged Prometric, a leading provider of test development services, to help us conduct a comprehensive study, known as a job analysis. This study will identify the knowledge and skills required to effectively perform and demonstrate proficiency in the fraud examination profession.

The results of this job analysis will enable the ACFE to keep pace with the ever-changing landscape of fraud examination while upholding the high standard of competence required for individuals who hold the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential. The ACFE will use the findings of this job analysis to revise the current CFE Exam content outline.

We are inviting all ACFE members to participate in a job analysis survey to help us ensure that the knowledge and skills tested on the CFE Exam truly reflect the current state of the anti-fraud profession. We need input from a wide range of professionals with experience in fraud examination. Your participation and expertise are critical to ensuring the integrity, value and global relevancy of the CFE credential.

Data from the survey will be used as a foundation for the content of the CFE Exam. Participation is optional, and survey results will be provided to the ACFE only in an aggregated format with no personal data included.

By taking this survey, you will be significantly impacting the future of the fraud examination profession.

If you complete the survey, you will also be eligible for one (1) ACFE (non-NASBA) CPE credit and will be entered into a drawing to win one (1) free registration for an ACFE virtual event.

Job Analysis Survey FAQs

  • Why is the ACFE conducting a job analysis survey?

The ACFE is conducting a job analysis to evaluate the structure, content and overall effectiveness of the CFE Exam. The main goal of this project is to make sure that the CFE Exam remains relevant and continues to focus on the core competencies necessary for satisfactory performance as a fraud examiner.

The job analysis survey is just one part of the overall job analysis study. The purpose of this survey is to gather and analyze feedback from all ACFE members to determine and validate the tasks performed by fraud examiners in the field, as well as the knowledge and skills necessary for qualified fraud examiners to perform these tasks.

  • Am I eligible to take the job analysis survey?
All active ACFE members are eligible to complete the job analysis survey.
  • How is the job analysis survey organized?
The ACFE’s job analysis survey contains five main sections: Background and General Information; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Domain/Subject Area Weighting; Additional Comments; and Continuing Professional Education Credit and Contest. The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities section contains four content subsections, representing the four major sections that currently comprise the CFE Exam: Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes, Law, Investigation and Fraud Prevention and Deterrence.
