How can I qualify for Student Membership?
To qualify for or renew Student Membership, you must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university* for the current semester or session. Qualified candidates are:
- Undergraduate students: enrolled in at least nine semester hours (or equivalent)
- Graduate students: enrolled in at least six semester hours (or equivalent)
Proof of full-time enrollment is required at time of application and renewal and must include the following:
- Full name
- Name of university
- Current semester
- Number of semester hours in which you are currently enrolled
- Enrollment status
Acceptable proof of enrollment includes:
- A copy of your current class schedule
- A letter on university letterhead from a professor, college advisor or the university registrar confirming your enrollment is full-time or stating the number of semester hours in which you are currently enrolled
Please note: Enrollment is subject to verification each year. CFEs do not qualify for Student membership.
*The following organizations are recognized as equivalent college/university qualifying bodies:

Do I have to join at the beginning of a semester or quarter?
No. Membership is not based on an academic calendar year. You can apply anytime and you will receive 12 months of membership.

Should I choose the standard or digital option to receive ACFE member resources?
It depends on how you would like to receive member resources from the ACFE. Standard delivery means you will receive Fraud Magazine® in both printed and digital form, along with other printed materials like the Resource Guides and the biannual Report to the Nations. If you choose to receive digital delivery, annual student membership dues are reduced; and ACFE resources will be delivered in digital format only.

I need my membership number right away. How can I get it?
You can access your member number online by signing in to ACFE.com. Use the email address you provided on your membership application and enter your password. You may also contact a Member Services Representative at 1 (800) 245-3321 or by chat at ACFE.com.

How do I know if I am eligible to become a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)?
Qualifications for becoming a CFE include having high moral character and meeting minimum professional and academic requirements. Your eligibility for certification is based on a point system, which awards credit for education, professional credentials and fraud-related experience. Read more about the qualifications.

I am graduating soon; can I still keep my Student Membership?
Yes, student status remains until your next renewal, regardless of your graduation date. Upon renewal, proof of full-time enrollment is required to continue Student Membership. Students who no longer qualify are encouraged to apply for Associate Membership.

Issues of Fraud Magazine® are delivered digitally to the email address on file if you have electronic membership.
