This series on remote investigations includes three 50-minute webinars presented by Bret Hood, CFE.

Part 1: Planning and Preparing for Remote Investigations 
In part one of the Remote Investigations on-demand webinar series you will learn how to plan and prepare for a remote investigation. Expand upon methods to corroborate information without access to proper files, including the potential use of informants. Explore ways to create the most relevant multi-disciplinary team to assist you in investigations, consider how to expand your personal network and identify the best open sources of information. 

Part 2: Conducting Remote Interviews 
Part two of the series will help you sharpen the skills you need to conduct effective remote interviews. Identify techniques to promote honesty in an interview setting where the interviewer and interviewee do not share the same physical space and learn how to build rapport with interviewees using verbal cues. Explore how the rule of reciprocity relates to interviewing and how to define equivocation in an interviewing context. 

Part 3: Conducting Remote Investigations and Presenting Findings 
Part three of the series explores how to conduct remote investigations and prepare relevant reports to present your findings. Expand upon best practices to gather evidence in remote investigations and identify effective chain-of-custody measures, as well as basic protections against cyber compromise and crimes when conducting remote investigations. Learn about the importance of mitigating investigative bias through techniques such as the devil’s advocate and consequential reflection approaches. Lastly, develop best practices for writing reports and conveying your findings after an investigation.
