Payment Fraud
Overview
Online
Description
Consumers and organizations have many options when it comes to paying for goods and services in a fast-paced world. Countless payment methods, ranging from cash to cryptocurrency, allow for online or in-person purchases. As payment options grow, so do the variety of fraudulent schemes aimed at exploiting these opportunities. Fraud examiners must ensure that their knowledge of traditional payment schemes, such as check and payment card (i.e., credit or debit card) fraud, is supplemented with an understanding of the newer schemes that electronic and mobile payments attract.
In this course, you will learn about different payment methods and examine the prevalent fraud schemes and red flags associated with each.
